Due to continued growth in the rail sector, an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the pre-construction team has become available.
The main purpose of the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be to maintain commercial information and ensure compliance with contractual requirements. The SQS will liaise with stakeholders on commercial issues during the tender process and agree contractual terms on successful lenders.

The Role

  1. Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, responsibilities will include:
  2. Liaising with pre-construction managers, providing commercial support for tenders.
  3. Undertaking reviews of tender documents.
  4. Assisting with the identification and the successful resolution of commercial risks.
  5. Ensuring that all contracts are suitable for the works being undertaken.
  6. Communicating with operational and commercial teams to ensure that the agreed contract is understood.
  7. Providing commercial support to and leadership to junior members of the QS team.

Experience Required

  1. Suitable applicants will be educated to BSc Quantity Surveying and be able to demonstrate no less than five years of experience working on construction, infrastructure, or MEP contracts.
  2. A thorough understanding and working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts is essential.
