Tech Lead – Java (Digital Consultancy) – Manchester – Hybrid – up to £110K
We\’re partnering with a rapidly growing UK digital consultancy with 500+ employees and offices across the UK. They combine technical excellence with a supportive culture that genuinely puts people first, delivering innovative solutions across finance, E-commerce, gaming, and more. This role is for a tech lead ready to guide teams, shape system architecture, and deliver complex, mission-critical solutions for household-name clients.
What You\’ll Be Doing
- Technical Leadership: confidently discuss technical designs with clients, aligning solutions with business goals. Lead the design, implementation, and documentation of software solutions while ensuring coding standards and codebase health.
- Hands-On Development: contribute to coding on projects as needed, troubleshoot complex issues, and evaluate emerging technologies for relevance to current and future projects.
- Team Leadership & Development: foster a collaborative, psychologically safe team culture. Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance management, while promoting continuous learning and improvement.
About You
- Experienced in Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
- Proven track record as a technical and team leader, balancing hands-on technical skills with leadership in delivery, project, and stakeholder management.
- Strong ability to build client relationships, understand challenges, and provide effective technical and project solutions.
- Experience managing a team of 6+ direct reports, while effectively handling personal project workload.
- Experience with Java, Automation, Mobile (native and/or cross-platform), and modern cloud infrastructure.
