Senior Cloud Platform Engineer – GCP/Kubernetes
Contract – 6 months, Remote, Outside IR35, £600-650 per Day, ASAP start
Our client is looking for 2 Cloud Platform Engineers to join on a contract basis to help as part of a project that will have huge impacts in the training on AI worldwide.
Skills/Experience
- Strong experience managing large-scale Kubernetes clusters
- Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes tooling (Helm, kustomize)
- Familiarity with GitOps and tooling such as ArgoCD
- Proven expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly GKE
- Experience using Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning
- Programming ability in Python and/or TypeScript
- Ability to produce clear, developer-friendly documentation and self-service tooling
- A collaborative mindset and focus on supporting internal teams
Role Responsibilities
- Managing and optimising GKE Kubernetes clusters using Terraform
- Supporting compliance with standards such as SOC2, ISO-27001, and Cyber Essentials
- Designing automation and workflows to simplify and speed up developer operations
- Building infrastructure solutions that enable secure, reliable deployments
- Providing technical guidance on GCP and Kubernetes to other teams
Desirable
- Multi-cloud experience (e.g. AWS, CDK)
- Previous work with cloud compliance standards
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog
- Experience applying cloud security best practices
