Great opportunity for an experienced Frontend Development Lead to join a scaling tech company in Manchester. Iβm looking for someone who is technically opinionated, knows how things should be done but isnβt afraid to fail and is looking for the autonomy in their next role to shape how things are done within their very own team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a 50/50 balance between team management and hands-on coding.
- Set agendas and standards, ensuring high technical quality and productivity.
- Lead engineering teams and manage the performance and personal development of engineers.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Engineering around reasoning and persuading effectively on various technical decisions.
- Work closely with product teams to refine requirements, understand resource availability, and provide technical leadership.
- Define and successfully implement web development strategy.
- Lead by example in frontend development, demonstrating best practices.
Technical Requirements:
- Strong experience with the Angular framework.
- Utilise TDD practices and also writing unit tests using Jasmine and Karma.
- Proficient in HTML5, CSS, and SCSS.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as Cognito, Cloudfront, and Lambda is a plus.
About you:
- 3+ years of experience managing a team of frontend developers (preferably using Angular).
- A willingness to remain hands-on, this role is a 50/50 split.
- Expertise in software engineering best practices, including design patterns, microservice architectures, and secure-by-design approaches.
- Excellent work planning, time management, and the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail, punctuality, and reliability.
- Someone with a background in dynamic environments - scale up experience is a huge plus.
- A proactive leader who can motivate and get people behind them.
- An individual who can work well with ambiguity and drive projects to completion.
- A team player who can effectively collaborate with other tech professionals and product teams.
