Summary
We are seeking a Senior Microsoft Engineer with a primary focus on delivering projects centred around Azure and Microsoft 365 technologies. The role involves implementing and building systems and processes, ensuring smooth handover for ongoing operation under managed services. You will work closely with project managers and be the technical point of contact for customers during project delivery. Responsibilities include planning project tasks, providing effort estimates, technical design feedback, and documentation. Collaboration with development and operational teams is essential to maintain high standards of customer service and project success.
The role also requires continuous improvement of delivery processes and tooling, with a strong emphasis on automation and the creation of CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure as Code deployments. You will identify opportunities to enhance system performance and reliability, provide guidance and training on Azure best practices, and stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. The ability and willingness to obtain UK security clearance is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Azure and M365 focused projects including migrations, proof of concepts, and infrastructure evolution.
- Act as the technical lead and customer liaison during project delivery.
- Develop automated tooling and processes to improve project speed, quality, and throughput.
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments.
- Support implementation teams and managed service onboarding.
- Participate in change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members on Azure environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet reliability and availability goals.
Skills
- Expert knowledge of Azure services (compute, networking, storage, database, security, IAM, management tools)
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365 services
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM
- Understanding of DevOps/SRE principles and CI/CD pipeline implementation
- Technical design and project delivery experience within Azure/M365 ecosystems
- Ability to estimate effort, plan tasks, and produce technical documentation
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Prior VMware vSphere experience (desirable but not essential)
- Willingness and ability to obtain UK security clearance
