Risk Manager Remote with Occasional Travel | Up to £80,000 + Benefits I am supporting a growing Payments FinTech in their search for a Risk Manager to establish and lead their risk function. The company is seeking a driven professional to design and manage their enterprise-wide risk strategy, ensuring compliance and resilience across operational, financial, compliance, and strategic areas. The Role As Risk Manager , you will be instrumental in shaping the organization’s risk landscape. Key responsibilities include: Developing a Risk Framework : Create and implement a comprehensive risk management framework aligned with ISO31000 standards, including the tracking of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and reporting on major operational and security incidents. Enterprise Risk Management : Own and mature the company-wide risk assessment process, providing actionable insights to senior management and the risk committee. Ensure emerging risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated. Distributor Risk Oversight : Assess and monitor the risk profiles of e-money distributors, manage incidents and breaches, and ensure alignment with reporting obligations and performance metrics. Governance and Reporting : Act as secretary to the risk committee, preparing detailed packs, maintaining accurate meeting records, and providing clear recommendations to strengthen corporate governance. Audit Management : Oversee internal and external audit activities, ensuring scopes are approved, findings are addressed, and progress is tracked effectively. Outsourcing Risk : Conduct initial and ongoing risk assessments of outsourced services, develop KRIs, and collaborate with compliance and operations teams to mitigate potential risks. Project Oversight : Provide risk advice on internal projects, including operational resilience, DORA, data privacy, and fraud prevention, while ensuring risks are appropriately documented and managed. About You Proven experience in a similar risk management role within banking, payments, or FinTech. Knowledge of ISO31000 standards and a track record of aligning risk frameworks accordingly. Strong understanding of FCA regulations and experience working in an e-money or payments environment is advantageous. Proficient in creating risk dashboards, heatmaps, and board-level reporting. Numerate with advanced Excel skills; SQL and Jira knowledge are a plus. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to senior stakeholders.
