Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer

Our client, a large organisation with over 5,000 staff, is urgently seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their Head Office team in Hertfordshire.

The role will involve designing, maintaining, and evolving our network and infrastructure across a multi‑office WAN environment, managing routers, switches, firewalls, SAN storage, Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware platforms, and transitioning to enterprise‑grade network solutions such as Juniper, Cisco, or Fortinet. The candidate will also work with Azure, Microsoft 365, and hybrid cloud technologies, but the main focus will be on network infrastructure, server environments, and WAN connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement network infrastructure solutions across multiple sites.
• Maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and SAN storage.
• Manage Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware environments.
• Lead the transition from current network to enterprise‑grade solutions.
• Plan and optimise network designs to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Collaborate on complex technical challenges and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on, technically curious, and project‑focused mindset.
• Proven track record delivering multi‑office network infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in network design and multi‑site infrastructure.
• Experience with on‑premises server platforms and hybrid environments.
• Fortinet, Juniper, or Cisco certifications are an advantage but not essential.
