We're looking for multiple Lead DevOps Engineers to join a critical digital team, supporting high-impact systems affecting UK citizens. Essential Experience
- Active SC Security Clearance or the ability to undergo SC Security Clearance
- Strong DevOps experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automation
- Expertise in Unix/Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and scripting with Bash, Python, or Go
- Significant experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
- Deep understanding of IaC tools: Terraform, Packer, CloudFormation
- Proven leadership in multidisciplinary delivery teams
- Skills in Databases: MongoDB / Atlas, Messaging: Kafka, Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk
- Experience working in a DevOps environment with Continuous Integration & Deployment
- Designing, implementing, securing, and supporting Unix/Linux based platforms
- Developing solutions using scripting languages (Bash, Python, Go)
- Supporting cloud-based application platforms in AWS
- Implementing CI/CD pipelines (preferably Gitlab CI & Jenkins)
- Using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Packer, CloudFormation, Cloud-Init
- Leading in complex, multi-disciplinary environments with multiple stakeholders
- Skills in Containerization: Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate, Nomad; Security: Hashicorp Vault, PKI, TLS, NCSC Principles; Networking: VPC Peering, DNS, Service Mesh; Identity & Device Management: Keycloak, Entra ID, JAMF, Okta
Role Responsibilities
- Be a technical authority and hands-on engineer within an agile team
- Lead the design, implementation, and operation of scalable cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
- Mentor and coach DevOps engineers, sharing best practices
- Build and support secure, resilient platforms for modern digital services
The role is inside IR35, circa £600-£650 DOE, on a long-term contract until March 2026. Hybrid working with occasional on-site days at Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Blackpool, Cardiff, or London. InterQuest Group is an equal opportunity employer.
