Recruitment Consultant- Risk, Regulation and Compliance

InterQuest are supporting a well-established challenger bank who are seeking a Financial Risk Manager to join its Risk & Compliance function. This is a critical role providing independent oversight and challenge to Treasury and Finance teams, ensuring adherence to both regulatory standards and internal risk frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent review and challenge to Treasury and Finance activities to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with internal policies.
  • Recommend risk triggers and limits, and contribute to the development and reporting of risk appetite to the Board.
  • Review ALCO (Asset & Liability Committee) materials and provide risk input into ALCO decision-making.
  • Maintain and enhance capital, market, and liquidity risk policies and procedures in response to internal developments and regulatory changes.
  • Offer documented assurance on ICAAP and ILAAP processes to support internal governance, audit, and regulatory reviews.
  • Actively participate in Pricing Committee discussions, offering challenge and assurance on key assumptions.
  • Oversee and validate Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) assumptions and their implementation.
  • Conduct regular assurance activities, including monthly pipeline reviews and backtesting.
  • Monitor and challenge Treasury assumptions (e.g., prepayment, pass-through rates, effective interest rate models).
  • Act as a subject matter expert in supporting the model validation process, particularly with Treasury models.
  • Collaborate with the wider Risk and Compliance function as required.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience in a similar Financial Risk position within a lending environment
  • Proven experience interpreting and applying regulatory guidance in financial services.
  • Strong background in market and liquidity risk, with hands-on experience in IRRBB (Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book) methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
