A recognised leader in enterprise platform transformation, this organisation is driving large-scale change across its infrastructure and application landscape. With a complex technology estate and ambitious modernisation goals, they are investing heavily in public cloud, automation, and platform engineering to support the future of corporate hosting. Multiple transformation programmes are already underway, including cloud migration, replatforming, and modern DevOps adoption, making this a pivotal time to join the team and help shape their next-generation platform services.
We’re looking for an Enterprise Platform Leader to lead the design, evolution, and delivery of scalable, secure, and efficient hosting solutions. This role plays a key part in enabling the organisation’s platform strategy across a hybrid environment, encompassing public cloud and on-premise systems. You’ll work with a broad stack including AWS, Azure, GCP, Windows Server, Linux, SQL, AVS, VDI, Citrix, Puppet, PowerShell, Jira, and LogicMonitor. With strong investment in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and modern tooling, the goal is to build a robust and agile platform capable of supporting a wide range of critical business applications.
As Principal Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across the enterprise platform space, leading a consultative engineering squad, mentoring engineers, and acting as a senior escalation point for the wider platform function. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and delivery leads to develop a long-term roadmap that supports both current operational needs and strategic cloud initiatives. From defining low-level standards to implementing automation pipelines and optimising cost across cloud estates, your influence will be felt across both technology and teams.
You’ll help embed best practices in engineering—particularly around cloud-native operations, automation, and configuration management—while guiding the introduction of new tooling and methods. This is a hands-on, strategic role where you’ll balance technical depth with cross-functional collaboration. Your day-to-day focus will span improving stability and performance, driving automation, supporting migration activities, and helping scale platforms reliably and securely.
What sets this opportunity apart is the culture. The environment is open, collaborative, and ambitious, with strong leadership support for transformation and a real appetite for innovation. You’ll work in a place that encourages curiosity, embraces modern engineering practices, and genuinely values personal growth. There’s significant scope to expand your technical expertise and take on broader strategic responsibilities as the platform capability evolves.
To be successful, you’ll bring deep experience in infrastructure and platform engineering, particularly in public cloud (AWS is essential; Azure and GCP are desirable), along with strong skills in scripting (PowerShell), configuration management (ideally Puppet), and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM. You’ll also have experience supporting Windows and Linux workloads, be confident navigating enterprise environments, and bring a collaborative, people-first mindset to how you lead and work with others.
If you’re ready to take on a leadership role in shaping the future of enterprise platforms in a dynamic and complex organisation, this is the opportunity for you. You’ll make a tangible impact, work with cutting-edge technology, and progress your career in a high-trust, high-performance team. Apply now to be considered. We’re shortlisting candidates over the next 7–10 days, so don’t miss your chance to be part of something transformational.
