We are currently recruiting for an Application Reliability & Performance Engineer to join an industry leading and ambitious financial services company. This is an exciting opportunity with multifaceted responsibilities, including infrastructure, application and batch support, as well as developing and maintaining Grafana dashboards.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support batch processing and carry out proactive analysis across squads and services.
- Support and triage Java products.
- Provide application support for Java.
- Review Java code and suggest improvements to enhance quality and performance.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents, problems, and change requests.
- Offer expertise on business processes for projects and production support issues.
- Maintain core systems and related infrastructure like Kubernetes and SOLR.
- Improve batch efficiency and reduce costs, including audit-ready data archiving strategies.
- Provide data analysis to support business decisions.
- Deliver patching, database fixes, and business-critical data correction services.
Experience Required:
- Extensive Java knowledge and experience is required for this position, Java 17+ (preferably 21), Spring Boot.
- Jenkins, GIT and CI/CD.
- Jira and Confluence.
- Monitoring / alerting tools and solutions.
- Scripting or coding with shell/bash, and Python.
- Standard SQL query language and PLSQL.
- Agile principles and ways of working.
- DevOps mindset.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Automation.
- Core AWS Services & Infrastructure as Code.
- Application Performance Optimisation.
On top of the salary, you will receive a wide range of benefits which include: 25 days holiday (+ 8 flex days), PMI, a performance related bonus and several benefits to support your health and wellbeing.
