InDev Analyst – Video Game + Technology Insights
Role
As an InDev Analyst, you’ll have the opportunity to provide mock reviews, game teardowns, and other evaluative reports leveraging your experience with video games, journalism, and knowledge of game development processes. You will think critically, tell stories, provide top-notch client service, and work with a team of equally passionate entertainment/tech/and game enthusiasts. The ideal candidate is someone with experience in games journalism and/or conducting evaluative research at game companies, with a personal passion for digital media, gaming, and technology who wants to apply their analytic chops and methodological expertise to business intelligence collected via multiple approaches. You will be responsible for helping ensure quality, client-ready deliverables, working with a team of smart, passionate analysts.

Requirements
- Provide support on and lead templated reports (Mock Reviews, Game Evaluations)
- Provide support (multiplayer, etc.) on other inDev (Concept Evals) reports, as needed
- Contribute to the review and editing of other inDev analysts’ reports
- Be able to serve as a presence on calls with clients, supporting the Senior Research Analyst, Manger, Director, or Executive Director leading the meeting
Skills
- A strong writer who can fully back up research arguments with examples and other proof
- Creative and Analytical; possess an ability to understand and translate research results to help tell a relevant and compelling story
- Collaborative and Team-oriented; enjoy growing with other team members
- Multi-task capable and time-sensitive; proficient in managing multiple research projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines
- Client service-minded; enjoy helping clients solve problems
- Communicative; excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in video game journalism, market research, or client side
- Proven ability to manage clients and their expectations
- Experience handling evaluative research:
- Deconstructing games while playing them
- Conducting desktop research to gather information and trends
- Analyzing results
- Presenting findings to stakeholders
The pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $50,000 -$70,000, is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. In addition to the base salary, total compensation also includes tiered performance bonus, health/dental/vision, 401(k), generous paid time off, physical & mental wellness program, paid parental/family leave, entertainment/video game allowance, and continuing education scholarship program.
