Objective of the position:
Work on projects to develop & improve the centrally installed Infrastructure of the organisation within Europe, while ensuring maximum (cost and uptime) effectiveness and efficiency, operating on different platforms in the area of Middleware, Operating-, Standard-, Universal- and communication Software and the hardware platforms the software is running on.
Duties:
- Support the design, development and implementation of projects related to the ICT infrastructure while adhering to the ICT architecture standards, including storage, server, networking and client related projects
- Support the operation and maintenance of the ICT systems to attain stable, reliable and uninterrupted operation by delivering high quality documentation, second line support, active change management and upgrade planning, taking into account technological developments and changing needs
- Support the development of the ICT department by using, maintaining and improving the internal processes and services, taking into account internal and external best practices
- Secure alignment with business and ICT stakeholders by active network monitoring and reporting on targets and benchmarks for the defined KPIs, SLAs and performance data
- Provide timely feedback and status updates to the business users
- Provide pro-active ICT support by proactively solving IT problems and/or by advising business to structurally resolve problems
- Pro-active monitoring of the network, storage, etc. to detect (and prevent) issues in advance
- Coaching of assistants and specialists in the infrastructure area to enable potential growth
- Coordinate the implementation of non-standard changes and projects as project member or project manager
Required skills, abilities, knowledge:
Specialised knowledge (Education and experience):
- Specialist IT training to at least the level bachelor degree
- Several years of practical experience in own area of expertise, ideally in a comparable (operating) position.
- Written and spoken English required. Written and spoken German is a nice to have.
- Broad specialist expertise in all matters concerning the hard- and software used.
