8.00am to 5.00pm (1 hour unpaid for lunch break)

Job Summary
To assist the Technical Manager in maintaining food safety, quality, and hygiene practices across the UK business. Provide competent and efficient support to both technical and interdepartmental functions. Ensure safety, quality and legality of product and practices across UK Business
To provide site technical team with information about adherence to compliance against required standards.
To identify and communicate any deviations from the standards using audit and inspection of premises, practices, processes, raw materials and finished products against specified standard.
Main Responsibilities
* Completion of technical information for internal and external reports.
* Administration of various databases. Ensure Information is generated and logged in timely and detail- oriented manner.
* Inspect and assess raw materials and finished products against the specification.
* Contribute to customer complaints investigations.
* Audit site production and technical traceability and CCP paperwork, to ensure it is completed to the highest standard and traceability is assured.
* Support generation of quality statements i.e., Certificates of Analysis
* Calibrate measuring equipment i.e., probes and scales periodically.
* Step up and cover in the absence of Technical Coordinator.
* Complete GMP Audits and contribute to improvement of site standards.
* Complete Fabrication and Glass and brittle material Audits.
* Accompany pest control personnel when completing inspection on site.
* Collect, store, assess and maintain production and raw material samples database, by collecting samples on delivery, assessing them against specification and maintaining the sock of products in case of an issue arising.
* Collect and prepare samples to be sent to the laboratory for testing.
* Inform when stock of required consumables is low and needs to be ordered.
* Complete allergen rapid testing, arrange the allergen samples and swabs to be sent to lab.
* Complete Environmental control testing by taking various environmental swabs and samples.
* Collect and organise retention library samples, by taking ownership of samples area’ organisation and
cleanliness.
* Complete internal audits. Examples: Glass, Packaging, Critical Control Points.
* Logging of laboratory samples for micro, nutrition, pesticide and heavy metals, and shelf-life analysis. If outside limits, then ensure relevant personnel is informed and appropriate action is taken.
* Ensure QMS documentation is relevant and request improvement where needed.
* Conduct daily taste panels, record results, and publish to wider teams the results.
* Perform independent temperature checks in freezer environment ( -18°C)
* Support preparation of samples for customers and other departments as and when required.
* Any other projects or tasks required by the business to ensure best in class standards are implemented.
* To actively promote a safe and ethical working culture, ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are met.
Teamwork
Support other members of the technical team regarding issues as they arise.
To work closely with members of other teams throughout Ardo.
Actively assist others in gathering and generating data regarding quality and food safety.
Contribute ideas and solutions to improve the team’s service delivery.
To cover for the Technical Coordinator in their absence.
To collaborate with other departments to complete necessary tasks.
Communication
Communicate with other relevant departments within Ardo, at all levels.
Share information with team.
Keep the Technical Manager informed regarding any issues.
Competent using different platforms of communication such as teams, email, telephone, written correspondence.
Analytical
Ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate fashion.
Inspect products, raw materials, processes, and practices against standard and positively contribute to improving it over time.
Trend data to report any out of ordinary spikes in microbiological or chemical or status quality issues.
Generate and log relevant information to SAP system, review and retrieve relevant data when required to prove due diligence.
Identify and report out of standard behaviours and practices, propose rectification.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of Food Safety Level 3 and HACCP Level 2 training
Minimum of 3 years’ experience within the Food Manufacturing Industry preferable
Good level of PC literacy; ability to proficiently use MS Office
Proactive attitude
Ability to work on own initiative but also as a team
Understanding of Microbiology and hazards
Flexibility and reliability
Good communicator and able organise in a busy environment.
