Interpersonnel is pleased to be working with our client once more to assist in the recruitment of an experienced Electrical Engineer/Fitter. The Electrical Engineer/Fitter will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely maintenance of plant and mobile equipment, ensuring smooth operations and minimal downtime. You will work with health and safety in the forefront of everything you do and support the site to continue being active.
About The Role:
- To effectively manage operational activities with respect to maintenance of ship unloader, plant/equipment and mobile plant.
- To ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in a safe, professional and timely manner, and in accordance with business policies, procedures and legislation.
- To effectively plan ahead so that all maintenance operations are undertaken in accordance with both future and immediate needs.
- Plan and execute preventative maintenance to minimise the 'downtime' of all plant and equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, control, PLC controlled systems and issues, minimising downtime.
- Lead failure analysis, implement corrective and preventative actions for recurring faults.
- Create, review and document all maintenance processes and procedures.
Knowledge & Skills:
Essential
- General education to Level 3 on national qualifications framework, including English & maths.
- Electrical Engineering qualification.
- Good depth of experience in similar industry with fixed and mobile plant equipment.
- Knowledge of requirements of Health and Safety legislation for operations of this type.
- Ability to work under pressure, alone or as part of a team, safely and prioritise your workload.
- Good organisational skills, able to organise own and others time.
- Able to manage significant quantities of important paperwork.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good engineering knowledge and application.
- Strong Interpersonal skills.
Desirable
- Experience in terminal and/or factory daily operations.
- Experience in cementitious material, aggregates or shipping operations.
- Experience of working with documented management systems.
- Moderate financial skills and the ability to work to operational budgets.
- Basic to moderate IT skills.
- Ability to operate computerised Purchase Order processing systems to maintain accurate records.
- Basic knowledge of Mechanical systems and how they operate.
