Interpath is seeking a highly experienced and commercially minded Associate Director to join our growing Loan Portfolio Diligence team, with a focus on securitisation and structured finance transactions. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing complex engagements, managing client relationships, and driving the growth and development of the practice. You will lead teams delivering loan-level diligence, re-underwriting, data verification, lending policy review, and AUP testing across a wide range of private and public securitisation transactions. You will also play a key role in ensuring high quality risk management on engagements, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to business development. The role offers significant variety and exposure across a broad range of structured finance transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the delivery of complex loan portfolio diligence engagements across private and public securitisation transactions, providing quality control checks and oversight.
- Provide experienced review and challenge of lending policies, underwriting standards, and portfolio performance metrics.
- Responsible for ensuring high-quality risk management of engagements, including adherence to required policies and procedures.
- Provide strategic input on scoping of engagements, risk assessment, and transaction execution.
- Manage and deepen relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact for a transaction.
- Guide and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and experience and fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
- Drive business development initiatives, including proposal development, client pitches, and thought leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. wider Debt Advisory, M&A and Restructuring teams) to deliver integrated solutions.
- Contribute to the development of internal methodologies, tools, and training programmes.
- Continually monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and innovations in structured finance, sharing knowledge with the team.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 to 8+ years of experience in structured finance, credit risk, loan underwriting, or securitisation.
- Strong track record of leading complex engagements and managing client relationships.
- Deep understanding of securitisation structures and credit risk assessment.
- Experience with AUP engagements and public securitisation reporting (e.g., ESMA templates, prospectuses).
- Proficiency in Excel is required; familiarity with cash flow modelling and data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI) is a plus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; able to convey complex information clearly.
- Commercially astute, with proven transaction leadership, and project management skills.
- Self-motivated, with a passion for developing people and growing a high-performing team.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
