As an Intern Analyst in the National Markets team, you will have the unique opportunity to engage in high-stakes situations where financial restructuring intersects with legal disputes. This role will provide you with hands-on experience in managing contentious insolvency cases, working closely with both financial and legal professionals.
Responsibilities
This internship offers a unique opportunity to understand the nuances of the financial advisory landscape and develop your professional network. You will be working alongside a highly experienced team and will have the opportunity to work on some of the country’s most high-profile businesses. As required, you will support both insolvency and restructuring advisory engagements.
During your internship, you will be required to:
- Participate in meetings, take notes, and summarise action items.
- Contribute to client-related tasks under the supervision of senior staff.
- Learn about industry trends and corporate strategies while working alongside advisors.
- Attend the office and client site when required.
- Participate in business development events.
- Undertake company research and targeting.
Restructuring advisory:
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and financial analyses.
- Support team members in data gathering and research for ongoing projects.
- Perform general engagement administrative tasks (including preparing pre-appointment conflict checks, engagement letters, and budgets; raising fee notes; preparing for meetings; and file notes).
Insolvency:
- Interact with the appointees, appointers, directors, creditors, employees, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare correspondence, including emails, letters and reports, for third parties including directors, creditors, and statutory bodies.
- Assist with investigations into the conduct of directors and understand the reasons for insolvency.
- Learn about statutory and Interpath best practice requirements.
