Overview
As Senior Tax Manager, you will lead and grow our UK Corporate Tax and Transaction Tax practice, overseeing end-to-end client engagements and delivering high-quality tax solutions. You’ll work closely with Directors and senior stakeholders to drive growth, develop relationships, and win new work across a diverse client base. The role combines technical leadership with people development and cross-team collaboration, leveraging AI and data tools to boost efficiency. This is a leadership-focused position with substantial responsibility for delivery, revenue, and strategic growth.

Responsibilities
- Lead tax advisory engagements, ensuring timely, high-quality outputs and commercial success
- Act as Engagement Leader for your portfolio, reviewing work of junior staff and signing off complex advisory/transaction work
- Provide practical UK corporate tax guidance and manage engagement planning, budgeting, resourcing, and cash collection
- Oversee client onboarding, risk assessments, AML, and quality procedures
- Build client relationships and identify opportunities for additional work
- Support business development through proposals, networking, and thought leadership
- Collaborate across Tax, Restructuring, Debt Advisory and Transaction Services teams
- Coach and develop junior colleagues and promote an inclusive culture
- Utilize AI and data tools to improve research, drafting, and delivery
- Lead the delivery of tax advisory engagements end to end
- Review work prepared by junior team members for accuracy and commercial relevance
- Ensure governance, risk management and timely completion of engagements
Key requirements
- CTA and/or ACA qualified, or equivalent
- 4+ years' post-qualification UK corporation tax experience in practice or in-house
- Strong grounding in core corporate tax regimes with ability to research and form views from primary legislation
- Experience running end-to-end engagement portfolios (scoping, pricing, budgeting, resourcing, delivery) and managing financial performance
- Experience reviewing work of Managers and below and developing junior staff
- Sound commercial judgement and a balanced approach to risk
- Evidence of winning work through origination, pitching, or growing client relationships into new mandates
