Interpath is seeking a proactive, hands‑on, and detail‑oriented Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to join our compliance team. This pivotal role involves working alongside senior compliance and regulatory professionals to ensure the organisation adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements related to Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) and Counter‑Terrorism Financing (CTF).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Interpath in managing the firm’s compliance with AML, CTF, sanctions, and other financial crime regulations.
  • Devise and lead the recruitment of in‑house KYC analysts and head the KYC team.
  • Prepare reports for the Interpath Board, ensuring regulatory obligations are met.
  • Lead the firm’s AML and financial crime risk assessments.
  • Perform the duties of Senior Manager Function 17 (SMF17), ensuring compliance with the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR).
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of AML/CTF laws, regulatory changes, enforcement trends, and industry best practice.
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee implementation of Interpath’s AML/CTF policies, procedures, and internal controls for global business.
  • Conduct and maintain the UK Business‑Wide Risk Assessment for AML/CTF.
  • Provide AML/CTF input into the wider global financial crime strategy, ensuring consistency with group standards.
  • Act as the primary liaison with the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) for Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
  • Oversee end‑to‑end handling of SARs globally, including receipt, assessment, internal investigation, decision‑making, and external reporting.
  • Maintain internal SAR logging, audit trails, and confidentiality safeguards.
  • Ensure staff understand their obligations around reporting suspicious activity and that processes operate effectively.
  • Design and deliver AML/CTF training programmes tailored to employees’ roles and responsibilities.
  • Promote a strong culture of financial crime awareness across Interpath’s global operations.
  • Provide targeted training to senior leaders and high‑risk teams.
  • Oversee AML/CTF monitoring activities, including client due diligence, KYC, enhanced due diligence (EDD), transaction monitoring, and sanctions screening.
  • Conduct regular internal assessments and thematic reviews to ensure the effectiveness of AML/CTF controls.
  • Partner with global and regional compliance teams to align processes and share best practices.
  • Support global initiatives such as technology upgrades, data integrity programmes, and enhanced financial crime controls.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Operations, IT, and business units to mitigate AML/CTF risks in new products, services, and markets.
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative changes and update internal policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Provide support and cover for other global client take‑on processes, such as conflict resolution.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience in AML/CTF compliance within a regulated, complex global professional services organisation.
  • Strong understanding of UK AML/CTF laws, regulations, and supervisory expectations.
  • Experience interacting with regulators and law enforcement agencies (e.g., FCA, NCA, HMRC).
  • Proven track record managing SARs and conducting financial crime investigations.
  • Experience designing and delivering AML frameworks, policies, and training programmes.
  • Professional certifications desirable (e.g., ICA Diploma, ACAMS, CISI Financial Crime qualification).
  • Experience resolving conflicts of interest and reviewing client and engagement risk assessments.
  • Demonstrable leadership, communication, governance, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • High level of integrity, independence and discretion with the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong judgement and decision‑making under pressure.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and shape organisational culture.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
