We are looking for a Marine Technical Advisor to join our team who will provide 24 hour marine vetting and technical support on a global basis. The work schedule comprises of: 12 days on / 9 days off (Shift Pattern: 5 dayshift – weekend – 5 nightshift). The position is remote, however Aberdeen based location is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide global 24-hour marine vetting and technical support.
- Daily monitoring and management of a specialised marine database.
- Continuous communication with global Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Arrange vessel surveys to meet vetting requirements.
- Complete various reviews, including Initial DP, Annual DP, DP FMEA & Proving Trials, Class Surveys, eCMID, OVIQ, ERRV Surveys, and Structural Integrity assessments.
- Review procedures, DP Operation Manuals, DP FMEA’s, CAMO & ASOG’s, and Checklists.
- Issue vessel certificates to match vetting requests.
- Ensure vessel vetting’s are managed and kept up to date.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Currently holds or has held a Marine, Engineering or ETO Certificate of Competency.
- Experience: 3 years’ experience on DP vessels / DP technical experience as DP Consultant / Superintendent or equivalent.
Skills:
- Knowledge and understanding of industry requirements from the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Classification Societies.
- Understanding of industry bodies including the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA), Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) and Marine Technology Society (MTS).
- Experience in conducting/reviewing marine inspections for marine vessels.
