Location: Barrow-in-Furness

Duration: Approx. 4 weeks

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IRATA Level III Rope Access Technician with OPITO Stage III Rigger certification to lead and supervise complex rigging and rope access operations on offshore wind turbines. This is a dual-certified leadership role requiring a strong technical understanding of rope access and rigging methods, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead rope access and rigging operations on offshore wind turbines during the installation of underdeck netting systems
  • Understand and construct simple/complex systems of mechanical advantage and haul systems
  • Supervise and check equipment rigged and fitted by operatives, select and use advanced anchor points/knots and rigging techniques including high angle tensioned rope systems
  • Ensure team safety and compliance with IRATA and LOLER standards
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of current Health & Safety standards and legislation, and ensure strict compliance with risk assessments and method statements
  • Coordinate with Team Leader and demonstrate leadership and sound judgement in challenging environments

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements:
  • IRATA Level III Certification
  • OPITO Stage III Rigger
  • GWO BST
  • OGUK Medical
  • Advanced First Aid Certification
  • Proven offshore experience in wind farm maintenance, including fabric maintenance and rigging operations
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ultrasonic Testing Level I (PCN Certified)
  • Magnetic Particle Testing Level II (PCN Certified)
