Green & Away is a charity looking for several individuals to join our summer internship and residency programmes. Our programmes are varied and adapted to suit you and your interests, and both provide the chance to learn, grow, and contribute to our outdoor community and sustainable events venue.

Our interns and residents are valued members of the crew throughout the summer. We have groups of volunteers staying for different durations, and we need you to be the backbone of the crew, providing ongoing knowledge of the site and undertaking longer‐term projects. On‐job training and an induction will be provided in the first week, with continual guidance from a dedicated member of the trustee board.

Interns and residents will join the volunteers during the setting up and taking down of the site. Interns are involved in the day‐to‐day running of our eco‐events site, leading teams of volunteers, and get hands‐on experience across several parts of the organisation.

Internship Program

Our internship programme is ideal for those looking to gain new skills, try out different responsibilities, and learn in a real‐world, supportive environment. Alongside your individual project, you can take on responsibilities in one or more of our core departments:

  • Hospitality & Ecotourism
  • Project & Events Management
  • Environmental Education
Residency Programme

Our residency programme is designed for individuals who already have a specific skillset and want the time, space, and support to develop and showcase their craft within a unique environmental setting. Residencies are more independent, practical, and self‐directed than internships, with residents taking the lead on creating, making, building, or developing something substantial for the site or organisation. Residencies typically fall within one of the following areas:

  • Catering & Sustainable Food Management
  • Technical & Maintenance
  • Artist in Residence
Qualifications & Responsibilities

Interns and residents are expected to:

  • Provide ongoing knowledge of the site and undertake longer‐term projects
  • Join volunteers during setting up and taking down of the site
  • Lead volunteer teams and work in core departments as appropriate
