The predicted salary is between 18000 - 25000 £ per year.

The placement student will be working with the engineering and CAD teams as an assistant building services engineer at our subsidiary MEP design consultancy www.bsguk.com. The team is responsible for mechanical and electrical building services drawings, co-ordination drawings, and related delivery activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist our engineering team and associated services proposition
  • Liaise with project teams on contract award to highlight requirements
  • Produce designs, calculations, specifications and drawings
  • Develop and build relationships with industry peers, consultants and clients
  • Client interaction

Qualifications and Skills

  • Base understanding and use of AutoCAD is needed
  • BIM/Revit experience would be a bonus but is not required
  • Good A-C grades in GCSE STEM subjects essential
  • Degree in Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering or building services engineering (either in progress or completed) is required

The placement student will have an assigned mentor within the team for workload and training support. Periodic reviews will assess skill level, progression and training needs. As the term progresses, the student will be given more opportunity to lead and manage their own projects and workload.

Additional Experience and Opportunities

There will be opportunities to experience other elements of the services that we provide (e.g. environmental, acoustics, civils, MEP design, thermal and energy modelling, embodied carbon assessments) if desired by the candidate to ensure a well-rounded and productive experience.
