East London Connect is a registered charity (1175537) helping young people of ethnic heritage achieve their full educational and career potential. As part of our work, we help a variety of organisations in different sectors develop effective diversity strategies.
East London Connect is pioneering a new two‑way mentoring scheme with the Foreign Office to help increase cultural understanding and diversity for both leaders within the Foreign Office and under‑represented groups of ethnic heritage. We will match senior members of the UK Foreign Office and ten specially selected university students of Afro‑Caribbean heritage.
Duration: Initially 3 months
Frequency: Twice a month (once at the Foreign Office, once with the mentoring team at East London Connect)
Person Specification: An interest in current and foreign affairs; must be able to commit to two evening sessions a month for three months.
