The Avenue Cookery School is a fun family-run company teaching cookery to all ages and abilities. We are a small team bursting with energy, drive and good food. We seek a like-minded, FLUENT English-speaking Chef Teacher Volunteer to join our team and assist our chefs who will offer guidance and support. Our team has years of experience and heaps of knowledge ready to share with the right person.

The role is a great way to learn more about food, cooking and teaching. If you have a passion for food or fancy pursuing a career in food, you’ve come to the right place. The kitchen is fast-paced and involves helping the chefs set up (mise en place), cleaning, tidying and general kitchen upkeep, including washing up and eventually helping and guiding students.

Being hard working, hands-on and able to take constructive criticism is important. The role is not for the faint of heart, and you should be comfortable getting your hands dirty. There is no clock watching or personal phone use – a get-things-done attitude is essential. The position is flexible to a degree and we work across days, nights and weekends, but you will need to be regularly available to make it worthwhile. London-based travel will be covered and excellent food provided. Possibility for future paid work.

Qualifications: None necessary but experience in cooking is essential. Home, self-taught foodies welcome.
