We are looking for proactive, driven volunteers who are passionate about supporting London’s homeless community. You will be supporting the day-to-day running of the charity by completing core communication and administrative duties as well as longer-term projects such as training volunteers, creating resources, conducting research and planning events.
Summary of Duties
- Communication
- Act as first point of contact for corporate partners and volunteers
- Ensure all enquiries are responded to in a timely manner
- Regularly update adverts for new volunteers
- Administration
- Maintain filing system (physical and online)
- Diary management
- Organise volunteer rota
- Organise meetings
- Take minutes in meetings
- Project Management
- Regularly update and create new resources, for example a Manual for Volunteers
- Conduct research as necessary
- Organise events, e.g. Corporate Social Responsibility Days
- Assist in training of new volunteers
Person Specification
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills including experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
- Clear interest in supporting London’s homeless community
- Commitment to Rhythms of Life’s core values
- Previous experience in a similar role (voluntary or paid), as well as knowledge of the issues of homelessness in London, is desirable but by no means essential.
