The role is part of a larger IT team and involves a blend of application support, development of automation scripts, and system administration tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in PowerShell, Python, and Microsoft Intune, and will work extensively with travel industry systems. Prior exposure to Global Distribution Systems (GDS) like Sabre, Amadeus, or Galileo and experience with travel platform APIs is a significant plus. The technician will ensure smooth operation of critical travel applications and contribute to automation and integration efforts, all while collaborating closely with colleagues in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

  • Application configuration for better stability.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: At least 6 years of experience in IT application support, systems administration, or a similar technical role at the enterprise level (mid-level position). Proven track record of supporting business-critical applications and infrastructure.
  • Automation & Scripting: Expertise in scripting and automation – especially with PowerShell (for Windows environment automation) – and proficiency in Python programming for developing internal tools or integration scripts. Ability to write, debug, and maintain complex scripts to automate tasks and streamline workflows.
  • Intune & Endpoint Management: Hands-on experience managing Microsoft Intune in a production environment, including device enrollment, policy configuration, software distribution, and troubleshooting of MDM issues. Familiarity with related Microsoft 365 Endpoint Manager components and Azure AD is expected.
  • Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of Windows-based systems and networks. Comfortable working with Microsoft server technologies, Active Directory, and RESTful APIs. Experience with application deployment processes, version control, and basic database querying is also valuable.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a talent for troubleshooting complex issues across multiple layers (application, database, network). Able to methodically diagnose problems and implement effective solutions under pressure.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Strong foundational knowledge of computing principles and software development lifecycle.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders when needed. A collaborative team player who can work within a larger IT team, share knowledge, and coordinate tasks in a dynamic environment. Customer-focused attitude to support end-users and deliver a high level of service.

Travel Industry Knowledge

  • Prior experience working in the travel industry or in a travel technology environment. Understanding of corporate travel workflows or online booking tools is beneficial. Hands-on familiarity with one or more GDS systems (such as Sabre or Amadeus, with Galileo/Travelport as a plus) is highly advantageous.
  • Travel APIs & Integration: Experience integrating or supporting travel platform APIs (e.g. Sabre SOAP/REST APIs, Amadeus web services, etc.) is a strong plus. Comfort with reading API documentation and troubleshooting data exchange issues between systems will help in this role.
  • Travel Systems: Experience with GDS platforms (Sabre, Amadeus, Galileo) and corporate booking tools.
  • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications or training. For instance, Microsoft certifications (such as for Intune/Endpoint Administration or Azure Administration) or an ITIL Foundation certification for IT service management processes can be a plus. Any formal training on GDS systems or travel booking software would also be beneficial.
  • Additional Technical Skills: Exposure to other automation and management tools like Microsoft SCCM/Endpoint Configuration Manager, Azure DevOps, or scripting in other languages. Experience with data reporting/analysis (using Excel, Power BI, or similar) can be helpful given the data-centric nature of travel systems.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and industry-specific systems. A proactive mindset to stay updated on emerging tools (both in general IT and travel tech) and to continuously improve skill sets.

Note: The preferred qualifications above are not mandatory but will give the candidate an edge. The team values a willingness to learn and adaptability, so candidates lacking travel industry experience but otherwise strong in core technical skills are encouraged to apply as well.

How to prepare for a job interview at Internova Travel Group

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
