The Opportunity
We're looking for a Goods-In Quality Inspector who is interested in developing a career in Quality and wants the opportunity to learn and grow within a hands-on engineering environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, has a good eye for detail and wants to develop new skills while playing an important role in ensuring the materials and components we use meet the high standards expected at OpenWorks. We're looking for someone with the right attitude, energy and motivation to learn, alongside a reliable and methodical approach to their work. You might come from a manufacturing, engineering, production, warehouse or other hands-on environment, or simply have an interest in Quality and a desire to learn more.

What you'll be doing
- Inspect incoming materials: Check machined parts, fabricated components, electrical assemblies, PCBs and other purchased items against the required quality standards.
- Carry out inspections: Complete dimensional and visual inspections using hand tools and measuring equipment, including vernier callipers and plug gauges.
- Check against requirements: Inspect materials and components against drawings, specifications and relevant quality requirements.
- Identify quality issues: Recognise defects, damage and non-conformances, including supplier quality issues, and elevate them appropriately.
- Record inspection results: Accurately record inspection and quality information within the ERP/QMS system.
- Manage rejected items: Prepare rejected materials and supplier returns, ensuring they are correctly identified and packed.
- Maintain traceability: Ensure materials and inspection records are correctly identified and traceable.
- Support the wider Quality team: Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing, supplier documentation and quality investigations, working closely with Quality, Engineering, Procurement and Production.
