We are seeking a Product Development & Regulatory Specialist with experience in food supplements and nutricosmetics, and a robust background in nutritional science, formulation, and regulatory affairs. This role is key to the innovation, legal compliance, and quality assurance of our collagen-based beauty and health food supplements, operating across global markets.
The successful candidate will support and contribute to new product formulation, scientific documentation, and regulatory compliance across various jurisdictions (including FDA, AESAN, SFDA, NHRA, CPNP, and UK/EU regulatory requirements for borderline products).
This position requires cross-functional collaboration with internal departments (marketing, operations, design) and external partners (consultants, laboratories, and manufacturers).
Key Machine Responsibilities:- Develop new product formulations in the nutricosmetic and health food supplement categories.
- Evaluate ingredient safety, compatibility, and scientific substantiation.
- Review and validate packaging artwork for regulatory and nutritional accuracy.
- Ensure packaging, labelling, and marketing claims are compliant with applicable EFSA, UK, EU, and US regulatory frameworks, in collaboration with external regulatory consultants where required.
- Prepare and manage regulatory dossiers and documentation (e.g., PIFs, CPSRs, nutritional tables, CoCs…).
- Support preparation of documentation for the submission of product notifications to different regulatory authorities including CPNP, MHRA, AESAN, SFDA, FDA, etc.
- Research innovative raw materials and health ingredients such as collagen peptides, vitamins, botanicals.
- Support and coordinate stability testing plans and ingredient shelf-life assessments with laboratories and manufacturers.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers on ingredients, product specifications, regulatory, stability, quality testing, and reformulations.
- Monitor trends in scientific literature and regulations to inform product strategy.
- BSc or MSc in Nutrition, Dietetics, Biochemistry, Food Science, or a related discipline.
- 2-4 years’ experience in product development or regulatory affairs within the food supplement and nutraceutical sectors.
- Experience reviewing or supporting nutrition, health, or cosmetic claims substantiation.
- Familiarity with EFSA claims, food supplement dossiers in different regions, and cosmetic PIFs.
- Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders and suppliers.
- Experience working with borderline products (food supplements vs cosmetic).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work across scientific, regulatory, and commercial teams.
- Ability to prioritise multiple projects in a fast-paced product development environment.
