Overview of Role

This role will sit within the Marketing team and will work collaboratively with all other departments. Core responsibilities of the role include managing partner relationships and associated marketing activity to maximise joint CSR and impact goals and deliver a secure funding stream for the future.

Background to Requirement

Children face significant issues when they are online, such as contact from strangers, exposure to inappropriate content and bullying, with over 70% experiencing some kind of harm. Internet Matters has a high profile and strong reputation in the online safety space. We conduct ongoing research which allows us to represent the views of parents and families within the sector, including contributing to government and regulatory initiatives. Research insights provide the basis for regular campaigns to help parents keep their children safe online, many of which are conducted in collaboration with partners, as well as developing our website with free advice and guidance for parents and teachers.

Our important work is funded by industry and we work with a diverse range of high-profile partners based in the UK and overseas. With the Online Safety Act now coming into effect, online safety is a key priority for our partners, making our collaborations more important than ever. These include research projects, resource and content creation, marketing campaigns and events.

Senior title

We are seeking a Head of Partner Marketing, who has strong experience in both Marketing and Corporate Relationship Management, potentially in a charity/non-profit environment, to manage our partner relationships and associated marketing activity. The role will include managing relationships with our Founding Members (BT Group, Sky and VMO2). This hands-on and varied role will also manage delivery of cross-organisation activation plans to ensure we maximise the potential from our partnerships, achieving joint CSR and impact goals and delivering a secure funding stream for the future.

Responsibilities

Partner Marketing

  • Lead the creation and delivery of partner marketing campaigns across all Founding Members and other major partners, to meet requirements of partner scope of work, with support from the wider Marketing Team

Partner Relationship Management

  • To manage relationships with our Founding Members as well as a portfolio of other partners, delivering proactive and seamless relationship management leading to successful partnership renewals
  • To proactively expand Internet Matters’ relationships across multiple touchpoints within Founding Member and key partner organisations
  • Contribute to the development and lead agreement of Scopes of Work (SOW)/activation plans for Founding Members and key partner organisations
  • Lead on existing partnership renewals, including development of potential activation ideas based on partner needs and areas of opportunity, managing renewal discussions and negotiations with partners and creation of renewal documentation
  • Deliver regular communications and updates to our partner network through newsletters and other communications or partner events

Partner Relationship Strategy and Leadership

  • To lead Internet Matters’ Partner Relationships, establishing processes both with partners and internally, to maximise potential
  • Establish a consistent approach to strategic planning and a partnership impact reporting framework
  • To oversee the implementation of these ways of working across all partner relationships, and facilitate the sharing of best practice

Project Management

  • Project manage and be responsible for the delivery of each Scope of Work (SOW)/activation plan for Founding Members and additional partner portfolio
  • Establish effective ways of working to ensure project delivery across the various workstreams and departments, both internally and externally
  • Lead on the delivery of Founding Member and partner impact reporting as per SOW/partner requirements

Prospecting and Fundraising

  • Support the Head of Fundraising with input/activation ideas for new prospect opportunities
  • Provide marketing support to the Head of Fundraising, including creation of collateral and presentation templates
Qualifications

Degree educated or 8+ years compensating work experience

Skills and Experience - essential
  • Direct experience of managing partner relationships to maximise engagement and retention
  • Strong experience of developing and delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns with strong focus on digital channels
  • Direct experience of working in or with external agencies including media, creative/design and PR
  • Development and implementation of activity calendars
  • Direct experience of working with C-suite level contacts in blue chip organisations
  • Experience of initiating and embedding process improvement
  • Experience in creating compelling proposals
  • Highly organised with excellent project management skills including management of multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to understand technology in the online safety space and to tailor content for different audiences
  • Strong relationship building and written/verbal communication skills
  • Experience of conducting successful commercial negotiations
  • Tenacious, proactive, confident and driven with excellent attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial with ability to spot opportunities and develop ideas into proposals
  • Experience of activity analysis/reporting and recommending actions to drive improvement
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own time
  • Experience of delivering projects via collaboration with partners/colleagues

This role is advertised with the following salary and benefits:

  • Annual salary £55-60,000
  • 28 days annual leave plus all bank holidays rising to 31 days after 5 years
  • Additional day of annual leave for your Birthday
