We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Director who can grow our presence in the UK Midlands region. Systech is seeking someone who is well qualified, technically able and has an interest and ability in work winning. As a Commercial Director you will provide leadership to the commercial team, establishing commercial processes and procedures alongside our major main contractors. You will have a proven ability to lead and mentor teams, advise on contracting strategies and contractual solutions combined with experience in a senior commercial position with a UK main contractor. This is a consultancy role and you must therefore be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a client facing environment; managing our existing clients in the region whilst forging new relationships.
Responsibilities:
- To lead teams on major construction projects
- Take responsibility for the regionβs commercial performance
- Driving business development
- Develop commercial strategies and lead on contractual negotiations
- To ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the contract
- Responsibility for management account preparation and liaison with senior management
- Extensive knowledge of main standard forms of contract including NEC and JCT
- To advise on dispute avoidance and resolution strategy
- Experience of claims preparation and dispute avoidance/resolution.
Individual:
- BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying (or similar, a 2:1 or higher preferred)
- A Member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (preferred)
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Presentable and articulate
- Excellent organiser with proven time management skills
- Willingness to work within a close management team
- Embrace innovation and new ideas
- Demonstrable track record of winning work
