The International Tutor Group (ITG), Ho Chi Minh City, is offering a very exciting opportunity to join our core management team and play a key role in developing our thriving tutoring centre. The role would suit a qualified teacher in a core academic subject such as English, Maths and Science who has significant experience in a management position such as HOD, HOY or Assistant Head etc.

The primary responsibility will be to provide academic guidance and management for our team of highly skilled and dedicated tutors, as well as to develop our services to ensure we continue to deliver the highest standards of curriculum support and student progression. Additionally, they will represent the centre to our growing community of parents and help develop our reputation as the leading provider of international tutoring support in Vietnam.

ITG is a British run Educational Consultancy and Tutoring Centre offering academic support for international school students, specialising in the Cambridge IGCSE, A-Levels, APs and the International Baccalaureate. We’re a small, family-style centre run by experienced UK teachers, with about 25 tutors and 300 students, working mostly 1-1 and in small groups. Alongside expert academic guidance, our tutoring model prioritises a mentoring approach that puts the whole child at the centre of the process. Our tutors make lasting and effective relationships with their students which they use to build self-confidence and real enjoyment in learning, alongside improving academic results.

We are ideally looking for a well-established secondary teacher with a strong academic background and an up to date pedagogic outlook as well as several years’ experience in a management role in schools, such as head of department / head of year / assistant head or similar. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record managing a large and busy team in a fast-paced and challenging school environment, ensuring consistently excellent outcomes for students. They will have an ability to provide clear leadership, promote a consistent, inspiring and value-driven message to parents and staff, manage conflict, deal with spontaneous issues that arise and maintain excellent relationships with all key stakeholders.

The candidate will have demonstrated a deep passion for a holistic education as well as academic excellence to ensure every student receives appropriate support for their own educational journey. They will be an excellent people-person, with an enthusiastic outlook and the ability to implement guidelines clearly across their team. They will also be resilient to change and see working in a new international environment as an opportunity where they can identify and implement new directions in our fast-growing centres.

If you’re interested in relocating your education career to one of South East Asia’s most vibrant and dynamic cities then this might be the role for you. There has never been a better time to be in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Drenched in history and cultural intrigue, Saigon is a city in the midst of transformation as it careens headlong into the 21st Century. New skyscrapers, hip international bars and buzzing arts venues appear on an almost weekly basis. This is set amongst both the gorgeous last vestiges of a sleepy French Colonial feel and the utterly distinctive quality of Saigonese street-life. Our study centres are located in leafy suburbs that are popular with expatriates and just a short hop from the city centre. Poised between the future and the past, Saigon is both unavoidably Asian and comfortably modern with a growing young international crowd making the most of this unique, embracing and dynamic city.
