International Students House (ISH) is a vibrant and inclusive student community based in central London, providing accommodation, scholarships, and support for students from the UK and around the world. We are looking for a proactive and organised Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at our new site on Kennington Lane. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation across our buildings and supporting a small team of cleaners.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day work of the cleaning team, ensuring high standards are met across all areas.
- Prepare and manage staff rotas, ensuring appropriate shift cover.
- Conduct regular building and room cleanliness checks.
- Order and manage cleaning materials and linen supplies.
- Carry out bedroom cleans (approx. 5 per week) and cover cleaning duties during staff holidays.
- Liaise with the Facilities and Resident Services teams to coordinate summer cover and room turnaround.
- Report maintenance and health & safety issues promptly.
About you:
- Previous experience supervising a cleaning or housekeeping team (preferably in accommodation, hotel, or student housing).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Basic IT skills for rota and inventory management.
