This is an exciting opportunity to build your career in IT within a busy and varied hospitality and student accommodation environment. You'll receive practical, hands‑on experience across IT support, networking, systems administration, cybersecurity and cloud technologies, while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
You'll be supported by experienced IT professionals who are committed to helping you learn, grow and develop your technical expertise.
What you'll be doing
As our IT Support Apprentice, you'll play an important role in supporting staff, students and residents with their day‑to‑day IT needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing first-line IT support for hardware, software and connectivity issues.
- Setting up laptops, mobile devices, user accounts and peripherals.
- Supporting Microsoft 365, Windows and other business applications.
- Assisting with the installation and maintenance of PCs, printers and mobile devices.
- Helping maintain IT equipment and asset records.
- Supporting our corporate and student Wi‑Fi and network infrastructure.
- Assisting with server monitoring, backups and cloud services.
- Learning to support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and other network administration tasks.
- Helping maintain IT security, antivirus protection and user access controls.
- Supporting IT projects, equipment rollouts and system upgrades.
- Assisting with technology used for conferences, events and our music venue.
- Working alongside external IT suppliers and contractors.
- Maintaining IT documentation and support records.
