We provide affordable accommodation, scholarships, and social support to students from across the world. With our exciting new site launching at 238 Kennington Lane, we are looking for a Duty Manager to play a key role in the day-to-day running of the building – ensuring it is a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for everyone who lives, visits, and works here.
About the Role
As Duty Manager, you will be at the heart of our operations – leading by example to deliver outstanding service, maintain safety standards, and create a positive experience for residents and guests. You will take ownership of the site during your shift, working closely with the Senior Duty Manager/Resident Services Manager – handling everything from daily checks and incident management to team coordination and customer support. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership and customer service experience who thrives in a hands‑on, fast‑paced, and people‑focused environment.
About You
- Essential
- Previous experience in customer service at a supervisory level.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
- Ability to work shifts and provide holiday cover.
- A proactive, positive approach to work with a genuine passion for helping others.
- Experience in a hotel or student accommodation setting.
- Knowledge of health & safety legislation and hotel software systems.
- Fire Marshal, First Aid, or Mental Health First Aid training (training provided if needed).
- Additional languages are an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the accommodation.
- Lead and support a small team, including Resident Advisors.
- Oversee resident welfare and engagement, building a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, housing standards, and sustainability initiatives.
- Monitor and manage building security and maintenance.
- Support financial processes including rent checks, invoicing, and budget oversight.

- Strong understanding of compliance and Health & Safety regulations.
