About the role

The Security Specialist, Assistance supports International SOS by delivering tailored security risk assessments, advice and coordination for clients globally. Working under the guidance of senior security staff, the role involves intelligence analysis, maintaining provider networks, contributing to operational readiness and supporting global case management. The Security Specialist, Assistance also assists with consulting projects and responds to high-impact security events as needed.

Key responsibilities

-Provide tailored verbal and written security risk assessments.
-Coordinate responses to security requests and create action plans.
-Monitor client travel using GPS and maintain communication.
-Support operational readiness and provider network development.
-Contribute to internal projects and process improvements.
-Keep clients informed about regional security environments.
-Travel occasionally to assess local security and expand networks.
-Handle incoming security-related calls and assess needs.
-Gather relevant information for incidents and provide advice.
-Manage and document security assistance cases.
-Ensure smooth handovers between shifts.
-Communicate case updates clearly to clients and stakeholders.
-Escalate cases as needed and follow protocols.
-Deliver security training and workshops when required.
-Support sales and marketing with service explanations and webinars.
-Follow the team roster and company policies.
-Participate in health and safety practices.
-Take part in training and professional development.
-Complete additional tasks or projects as assigned.

About you

• Strong knowledge of the political and security landscape within the region.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to explain complex situations to non expert audiences in English.
• Ability to critically analyse multiple streams of information under time pressure.
• Demonstrated experience in the application of risk assessments.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite and other applications.
• Educated to a degree level (or relevant professional training) in a field related to security, risk
management, international politics or international relations.
• Master’s degree in similar fields an advantage.
• Excellent spoken and written English language.
• Other language proficiency desirable e.g. French, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian and other regional
languages
