Broadhurst School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to support learning and development in our Nursery class. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a warm and welcoming Early Years setting with a strong emphasis on high-quality care and early education.

About the Role

Working alongside the class teacher, the successful candidate will support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum, assist with classroom routines and provide nurturing, hands-on support to individual children and small groups. This role is ideal for a dedicated early years professional who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate EYFS activities
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom materials and learning areas
  • Work closely with individual children and small groups to support learning and development
  • Promote children’s independence, confidence and social skills through play and structured activities
  • Help with personal care routines, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment
  • Contribute to observations and assessments to inform planning
  • Communicate positively with children, staff and parents
  • Follow school safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times

About You

  • Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Childcare, Early Years Education or equivalent - essential
  • Experience working with children aged 2-5 years in a nursery or school setting
  • A sound understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
  • Warm, patient and supportive approach with a genuine passion for early years education
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • First Aid and Safeguarding training desirable (training can be provided)
