Year 6 is an exciting time in a childβs development, bringing opportunities for increased independence, academic challenge and preparation for senior school. Working closely with the Year 6 teaching team, you will play an important role in helping pupils navigate this transition with confidence and success. The role will involve supporting children both within the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping them develop key skills in English, mathematics and reasoning as they prepare for 11+ examinations, senior school entrance assessments and interviews.
The successful candidate will have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 2, and will be confident supporting learning across the curriculum. You will be able to build positive relationships with pupils and provide encouragement, reassurance and challenge where appropriate. An understanding of the academic demands associated with 11+ preparation would be beneficial, as would the ability to work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning and boost confidence.
We are looking for an individual who combines warmth and patience with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will enjoy being part of a collaborative team and will be proactive in supporting both the academic and pastoral needs of pupils. Above all, you will share our commitment to helping every child achieve their full potential and leave our school fully prepared for the opportunities and challenges of senior school life.
In return, we offer the opportunity to work within a welcoming and supportive school community where staff are valued and pupils are enthusiastic, engaged and eager to learn. You will join a dedicated team that is passionate about delivering an outstanding educational experience and ensuring every child is equipped to succeed both academically and personally.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference during one of the most important years of a childβs prep school education, helping pupils move forward to their chosen senior schools with confidence, resilience and a love of learning.
This is a part time role, working on a Tuesday and Wednesday each week.
