Permanent, full time role – to start as soon as possible
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fun, forward-thinking School which is committed to academic excellence and innovative teaching and learning strategies. This is within the context of outstanding pastoral care and co-curricular provision to ensure the best possible holistic pupil experience.
We are looking for an organised and accurate Finance Assistant to join our small and supportive Finance team. This is an essential role providing efficient support across the purchase ledger and wider finance function, helping to ensure the smooth operation of the School’s financial processes.
The successful candidate will process supplier invoices and payments, maintain supplier records, reconcile statements and school credit card transactions, and assist with bank reconciliations, cash postings, month-end and year-end processes, audit preparation and financial reporting. They will also respond to finance-related queries and provide general administrative support to the Head of Finance and wider team.
Applicants should have GCSEs, or equivalent, in Maths and English, together with previous experience in a purchase ledger, accounts payable or finance assistant role. A good understanding of accounting principles, experience of accounting software and Microsoft Excel, strong attention to detail and excellent organisational and communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will be reliable, discreet, proactive and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
The salary range is from £30,497 to £33,263 per annum, depending on experience.
Hours of work will be 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, all year round, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break each day. The School is open to discussing a hybrid working arrangement, including some home working, during the interview process.
Interview date: w/c 28 September 2026
