Focusing relentlessly on raising academic achievement, the Director of Studies line manages the four Faculties at the Senior School in partnership with the Director of Sixth Form. The Director of Studies is responsible for coordinating educational provision to improve standards of learning and achievement for all, including SEND and EAL students. They are also involved in communication with parents and ensuring that students are placed on the most appropriate courses.
In addition, they work closely with the Principal in the retention and recruitment of staff and play the lead role in ensuring that the highest standards of teaching are maintained across the school. They are central to the effective professional performance management of staff. They lead in supporting both trainee and early career teachers and in the management of the staff team as a whole. They are a beacon for innovation and creativity, leading the staff in the development of an innovative and demanding curriculum for all the community.
They will lead in the delivery of ISP's learning and innovation strategy, modelling effective leadership for learning and playing a leading role in the Learning Improvement Process. The Director of Studies is also instrumental in supporting the Principal and the Deputy Principal in meeting the wider school's successful operation as an ongoing commercial enterprise.
