ESG Risk and Regulatory Consultant

Role Profile

Purpose of Role

ISP is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented ESG Risk and Regulatory Consultant to join our Group ESG team for a six-month contract. Reporting to the Group Head of ESG and working closely with relevant internal stakeholders, this position will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive mapping of non-financial and sustainability reporting requirements across our 25-country footprint. The role will identify applicable obligations and help define the strategy, data capabilities, and operational requirements needed to ensure alignment with evolving regulations and ESG rating frameworks across our footprint.

This consultant will also support the assessment of climate-related risks and contribute to reporting for key ESG ratings and investor requests. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with strong regulatory knowledge, ESG data proficiency, and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable plans.

Key Responsibilities

Mapping & Regulatory Scan

  • Conduct a comprehensive scan of existing and emerging non-financial and ESG-related reporting requirements across all 25 ISP countries, including but not limited to CSRD, NFRD, ISSB, GRI, TCFD, and CSDDD.
  • Identify country-specific reporting obligations and determine applicability based on ISP\'s business model, operations, and footprint.

Gap Analysis & Strategic Alignment

  • Assess ISP’s current ESG data collection, reporting capabilities, and processes to identify readiness gaps.
  • Recommend a strategic roadmap for aligning internal processes and data infrastructure to comply with relevant regulations.
  • Provide actionable guidance on integrating ESG reporting standards into internal systems.

Climate Risk & ESG Ratings Support

  • Support climate risk assessment and mitigation plan development.
  • Contribute to data collection, validation, and narrative preparation for submissions to ESG ratings bodies, as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of external disclosures.

Monitoring & Regulatory Updates

  • Establish a framework to continuously monitor regulatory changes, emerging standards, and jurisdictional rollouts.
  • Provide timely updates and impact assessments to the Group Head of ESG and other senior leaders.

Data Controls & Risk Frameworks

  • Collaborate with relevant teams (e.g., Finance, Internal Audit, Property) to develop appropriate internal controls and risk management practices related to ESG data.
  • Recommend tools and systems to improve ESG data integrity, traceability, and audit readiness.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Regulatory & Reporting Expertise

  • Minimum 5 years\' experience in ESG/non-financial reporting, sustainability consulting, or corporate responsibility in a global context.
  • Strong knowledge of key frameworks, such as: CSRD, NFRD, GRI, ISSB, CDP, TCFD, MSCI, Sustainalytics, EcoVadis.

Analytical & Project Management Skills

  • Proficiency in analysing ESG data and converting regulatory requirements into practical implementation plans.
  • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives in multinational environments.

Strategic & Communication Skills

  • Ability to communicate complex sustainability concepts and regulations to non-experts across functions.
  • Skilled in producing strategy documents, gap analyses, and stakeholder presentations.

Collaborative Approach

  • Demonstrated success in influencing and partnering with internal stakeholders across departments and regions.
  • Experience working in remote or matrixed organisations preferred.

Language Skills

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages such as Spanish or French are an advantage.
