Focusing relentlessly on raising academic achievement, the Director of Studies line manages the four Faculties in the Senior School in partnership with the Director of Sixth Form. The Director of Studies is responsible for coordinating educational provision to improve standards of learning and achievement for all, including SEND and EAL students. They are also involved in communication with parents and ensuring that students are placed on the most appropriate courses.

They work closely with the Principal in the retention and recruitment of staff and play the lead role in ensuring that the highest standards of teaching are maintained across the school. They are central to the effective professional performance management of staff, support both trainee and early-career teachers, and manage the staff team as a whole. They are a beacon for innovation and creativity, leading staff in the development of an innovative and demanding curriculum.

They lead in the delivery of ISP's learning and innovation strategy, model effective leadership for learning, and play a leading role in the Learning Improvement Process. The Director of Studies also supports the Principal and the Deputy Principal in meeting the wider school's successful operation as an ongoing commercial enterprise.
