The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Lead Solutions Specialist to support the IRC’s Salesforce environment, focusing on the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) to empower global fundraising, operations, and marketing technology teams. This position is remote but requires in-country eligibility and adherence to New York business hours with flexibility for calls to Asia or the Middle East. Location options include New York, USA; Bogota, Colombia; or London, UK.
Major Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level configuration and support within the Salesforce NPSP architecture, including donation management, households, and engagement plans.
- Administer and enhance Salesforce NPSP features to meet fundraising and supporter engagement requirements.
- Collaborate with fundraising and marketing users to translate nonprofit business needs into Salesforce solutions.
- Act as technical lead for Salesforce support and specific enhancement projects; serve as domain expert for solution architecture including configuration, development, integration, and customization of sophisticated environments.
- Support the assessment and resolution of Salesforce cases.
- Cultivate a collaborative and high-performance culture within the Marketing Technology Team.
- Design and develop business solutions demonstrating Salesforce declarative programming and administration, working with regional partners to define requirements, build, test, UAT, and implement.
- Apply Salesforce Apex programming language, Visualforce, MS tools, API frameworks, 3rd party APIs, and other development tools in IRC’s NPSP environment to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
- Architect and develop new solutions using flows, maintain the global architecture, and handle select CRM tools and plug-ins (e.g., Gearset, Dataro, OwnBackup, Apsona, Pardot).
- Regularly use Salesforce reports and dashboards for day-to-day operational insight and troubleshoot reporting issues as needed.
- Provide technical/admin support and sophisticated troubleshooting for end users.
- Manage the upgrade and patch process for Salesforce and the CRM application; assess third-party solutions on the Salesforce AppExchange and recommend actions.
- Build productive relationships with cross-functional stakeholders; communicate technical information clearly to enable decision-making.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Work Experience: Significant demonstrable experience with CRM and relational databases (non-profit experience a plus), IT delivery, and professional services environments. Demonstrable development experience with Salesforce.org, SOQL, Visualforce, and other SFDC development tools. Experience with creating views, stored procedures, and functions. Proven experience ensuring data privacy compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) including secure data management and user consent protocols.
- Preferred: Experience implementing fundraising applications for non-profit organizations; experience with Agile delivery; web services or APIs; AI-enabled technologies across the Salesforce ecosystem; launching donor portals and flows coordinating marketing channels; demonstrated skills across NPSP structure and schema; SFDC Advanced Administrator Certification; License/Certifications listed: Salesforce Administrator, App Builder, Platform Developer I, NPSP Cloud Consultant or equivalent.
- Language: English fluency.
Working Environment
This is a remote position; candidate must be available to work core hours aligned with the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone. Occasional travel may be required, including attendance at Salesforce events and team gatherings. A collegiate environment that collaborates across External Relations and the broader IRC, with transparency and accountability in line with the IRC Way.
Compensation and Benefits
Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates and are based on factors including labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Offers are calibrated by location, experience, and skills. US benefits include: sick days, holidays, paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, FSA, 403b with matching, disability and life insurance, and an Employee Assistance Program for staff and families.
