Doctor, Urologist in Peterborough

International Medical Corps is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through healthcare training and relief and development programs. This position will support International Medical Corps’ emergency response delivering outpatient clinical care to disaster-affected populations.

NOTE: Candidates applying to this position are indicating that they are interested in being considered for International Medical Corps’ standby roster for emergency response. Roster members will be contacted only when there is an emergency-response need for which the responder is qualified. This position will not be compensated unless responders are deployed to an emergency response. Selected personnel are on standby to deploy to a crisis within 48 hours. Personnel may deploy to new areas of operation or lend support to International Medical Corps teams already on the ground. International Medical Corps maintains a roster of volunteers and staff who have completed pre‑deployment paperwork, orientation and training. The roster is updated on a regular basis. Through this expression of interest, applicants maintain professional profiles with International Medical Corps, so that information is complete and readily available for an emergency response deployment.

Job Summary

The Urologist provides clinical care for diseases of the urinary tract and male reproductive system within a medical facility, supporting outpatient consultations, surgical services, and inpatient care.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient consultations for urological conditions.
• Diagnose and manage urinary tract disorders, kidney stones, prostate conditions, and male reproductive health issues.
• Perform urological procedures and surgeries within the facility’s surgical program.
• Provide inpatient consultations and post‑operative management for admitted patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for complex cases.
• Interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory results relevant to urological care.
• Ensure adherence to clinical standards, infection prevention, and patient safety protocols.
• Participate in emergency response for acute urological conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with completion of post‑graduate training program in Urology.
• Valid medical license and board certification or equivalent specialization.
• Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience in urology practice.
• Experience in surgical procedures and inpatient care.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Fluency in English required.
