(FMCG, Retail and Food supply-chain – Solutions not Products)
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong, experienced Commercial Director to join a growing, highly regarded, capital equipment company which is primed to deliver and enjoy rapid and profitable growth in future years. From its North West base and through an effective network of contacts within the retail market supply chain, the company has ambitious plans for further growth, which have been partly realised through the recent acquisition of a significant new client. Privately-owned, our client manufactures and markets a technically strong, new range of packaging equipment which require patient and involved commercial leadership along with strategic thinking and collaboration. The company continues to build significant relationships across the supply chain to remain at the forefront of their chosen sectors and to ensure that ambitious business growth plans are realised,
Reporting to the CEO, the appointee will be responsible for all commercial aspects of the company which in addition to the building and delivery of the sales pipeline through establishing strong relationships with existing, new and potential clients across the market place, will also carry responsibility for the forming, development and leadership of a strong commercial team, none of whom are currently with the business. The ideal candidate will have experience of Capital Equipment sales, an understanding of the Retail and Food industries, be able to work comfortably and effectively across all levels of both large and small FMCG organisations and have a clear understanding of the supply chain. This is a senior, influential and highly significant appointment for the company and the right individual will enjoy the opportunity to contribute to the overall long-term development of the wider business. As such, cultural fit will be of paramount importance, as will an entrepreneurial, proactive and balanced approach to develop and deliver the company’s aspirations.
Candidates, ideally qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline, will have demonstrable and successful track record in the development and leadership of a commercial team, along with strategic thinking, strong teamwork, a high level of integrity and a desire to build strong relationships both internally and externally. Experienced in small business scale-up, along with the development and successful closure of new business opportunities, the appointee will demonstrate drive, tenacity, ‘presence’, maturity, confidence, humility and strong financial awareness coupled with exemplary communication & presentation skills – a combination of which will enable success to be rewarded by future potential involvement in the direction, aspiration and ownership of the business. Listening, influencing and negotiation will all be key competencies along with a positive, enthusiastic outlook which will engage others to deliver exceptional results.
