This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong, experienced business leader to join a highly regarded, industry-renowned company which has enjoyed rapid and profitable growth in recent years. From its current UK base and through an effective network of overseas distributors, the company has ambitious plans for further growth including overseas manufacturing and targeted acquisitions.
Privately-owned, our client manufactures and markets a technically strong range of products which require effective customer care and marketing to ensure that the company remains at the forefront of the worldwide Tyres and Rubber sector along with the capability to support strategic thinking to ensure the ambitious 5-year plan for business growth is realised.
Reporting to the Business Director – Performance Chemicals, the appointee will be responsible for the worldwide commercial activity of the company’s range of Rubber Chemicals and Bonding Agents through both direct and indirect sales channels and the delivery of increased profitability through the day-to-day management of product pricing, whilst supporting cost control and new product development.
With responsibility for setting, delivering and measuring accurate sales budgets and forecasts, the incumbent will collaborate closely with all areas of the business to ensure common purpose and a co-ordinated approach. This is an influential role within the company and the right individual will enjoy the opportunity to contribute to the overall long-term development of the wider business. As such, cultural fit will be of paramount importance to this appointment as will an understanding and acknowledgement of the issues affecting family-run SMEs.
Candidates, ideally qualified to degree level or equivalent in a science or technical discipline, should demonstrate a track record of strong commercial experience, the ability to contribute strategically, strong teamwork, a high level of integrity and a desire to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
With a demonstrable track record of customer care and relationship-building, along with the development and successful closure of new business opportunities, the appointee will demonstrate drive, tenacity, ‘presence’ and strong financial awareness coupled with exemplary communication & presentation skills. Listening, influencing and negotiation will all be key competencies along with strong analysis and decision-making skills and a positive, enthusiastic outlook which will offer future opportunity as success is delivered.
