The purpose of this post is for the Site Coordinator to be responsible for general site management, being the first point of contact for day-to-day operational matters. The post holder will take the lead in ensuring the sites are operated safely with a view to maximising generation, minimising downtime, and controlling costs.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Planning and managing site work schedules.
  • Conducting inductions and toolbox talks.
  • Maintaining good health and safety onsite practice in general including carrying out on‑spot high level H&S audits of third‑party contractors.
  • Conducting regular general site inspections and maintaining records of condition and managing specialist contractors where required to conduct more detailed inspections.
  • Monitoring production and operations regularly through SCADA etc so that any faults can be responded to quickly and downtime minimised, plus expediting plant start‑ups after system faults.
  • Managing on‑site regular maintenance works to equipment and infrastructure.
  • Managing ongoing habitat management or mitigation works.
  • Ensuring building/site security and safety systems are in good working order.
  • Maintaining project records and logs.
  • Providing regular reporting on completed and scheduled works.
  • Managing and in some cases undertaking minor maintenance works, including cleaning hydro intakes, replacing building water supply filters & lighting, weed management etc.
  • Supporting our relationships with landowners, local communities and project stakeholders.
  • Cost control is important for the operational sites and the Site Coordinator will be expected to monitor actual spend against planned expenditure.

About the Candidate

  • Experience in managing operations and maintenance of wind generation sites.
  • Good understanding of operational site safety requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English and the ability to produce high‑quality reports.
  • Proficient use of Windows‑based IT systems and basic office software such as emails (Outlook), word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel) and PowerPoint.
  • Effective time‑management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to create and maintain high quality, detailed records of work undertaken and planned.
  • Full, current driving licence valid for driving in the UK.
  • Experience with using SCADA systems desirable.
  • Familiarity with the Wind Turbine Safety Rules and/or HV safety rules.
  • Experience using non‑specialist light duty power and hand tools to undertake minor works safely.
  • First aid qualification and other H&S related certifications such as manual handling, managing HSE at work (or willingness to acquire).
  • GWO Working at Height certification (or willingness to acquire).
