Our client is a leading Facilities Management business, who are looking to expand their excellent legal team, with a focus on Capital Projects. They are ideally looking for a commercial/construction lawyer, with 4-6PQE and extensive experience in both NEC and JCT contracts, ideally with some in-house experience. You will play a crucial role in the business, supporting on major projects, working closely with and reporting to the Head of Legal, this is an excellent opportunity to work on exciting, large-scale projects in-house. The role also offer flexibility on location, with the option to be based in their London or Surrey offices. Other key experience and responsibilities: Advising and negotiating on construction contracts, and other commercial contracts, so a deep knowledge of contract law is necessary. Solid experience in standard form contracts is essential. Good knowledge of these areas of law: data protection in commercial transactions, competition law, TUPE and intellectual property rights issues. Negotiating and advising on construction and commercial agreements, including standard form NEC and JCT. Direct support to the Projects Leadership Team on various issues. Supporting the business with disputes with clients or suppliers and instructing external counsel where necessary. Advising on legal developments and implications for the business. Maintaining and updating standard contract terms.
