Hours: Full-time Contract: Permanent Location: London The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) is a world-leading think tank which examines issues of global security, political risk and military conflict. The IISS has offices in London, Berlin, Singapore, Manama and Washington DC. Arundel House Enterprises Ltd. (AHEL) is the commercial subsidiary of the IISS, which this role will be contracted under. The IISS works with a wide range of private and public sector clients across a range of sectors, sharing the Institute’s analysis and expertise. We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Analyst to join a small and dedicated team. Responsibilities Identify themes and issues of strategic relevance to businesses, and specifically to IISS’s corporate clients. Research and write regular memos, articles and reports in a business-friendly format which address topics of relevance to IISS Advisory current and potential clients. Work with IISS and commissioned authors to prepare short reports for clients, if required under the Advisory contract, whilst ensuring the quality and relevance of the product. Assist the members of the Advisory Services team with their preparation for client briefings and presentations, and support them in developing new services. Requirements Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline. Excellent writing and analytical skills. An interest within geo-politics and/or geo-economics. An ability to distil business-relevant analysis from large volumes of information. An enthusiasm for stakeholder management and internal relationship building. An understanding of how businesses use geopolitical analysis. International experience. Experience of writing for senior decision-makers.
