This is a part-time freelance role (3 days a week) and we are looking for someone for up to 6 months to work on our makeup brand.
About this role
As the NPD Manager, you will assume the role of a specialised, scientifically minded manager responsible for helping to build and nurture our cosmetic portfolios by contributing to the conceptualisation of products, strategically leading and managing the development of NPD, and maintaining the ongoing management of existing products. The NPD Manager will work alongside the other senior members of the research team, shaping and impacting the brand’s cosmetic developments. You will also work particularly closely day-to-day with wider teams and external suppliers, including but not limited to; regulatory, packaging, creative and supply chain, in order to innovate and maintain the smooth running of skincare NPD projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new products inclusive of product idea, formulation strategy, ingredient approach, claims validation, evaluation of submissions and alignment with marketing / leadership.
- Partner with key teams – the labs, packaging, artwork – to coordinate all deliverables required for registration and manage shipment to registration team in market; responsible for managing a product development consultant to ensure on time delivery of registration approval.
- Develop and present formula briefs to R&D; work collaboratively with the labs in the formula development.
- Partner with the labs and marketing to drive for support of key claims with legal.
- Work closely with marketing to define COG targets, product packaging, copy and launch materials, consumer research questionnaires and brainstorming.
- Prepare formula information for marketing books for each new launch to be distributed internally and globally.

- Experience in beauty; skincare product development experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and an obsession with organization is required.
- Strong project management including development of timelines, tracking of project status and ability to move projects forward to hit key milestones and deadlines on time.
- Strong communication skills – able to share complex details with multiple functions to achieve milestones.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Creativity and ability to work independently, with minimal oversight once on boarded is important.
- Strong experience in full colour cosmetics product development management.
